current mood: aggravated
So.... I was all excited about the idea of a Eureka comic -- Nathan would still be alive. Taggart wouldn't have magically disappeared. Jo would get the respect and attention she'd deserve. It'd be like a whole new episode of Eureka, with the old skool appeal, by the experts, that I could read over and over that would only cost a few bucks. Sorta like mega awesome fanfic but better.
... execpt that Boom! has now managed to make it the biggest 'ur doin it rong' despite the good start. Ohhhhhh am I annoyed. And I know I'm not the only one.
First they say in October that #1 would be coming out in December. Put out a nice little preview post that shows it as coming soon. Annoying, but hey, we know a timeframe. As December marches on (or this year here -- snows incessantly -- long story) we get a release date at the end of December. Release date rolls around, nothing's shipped. Another week passes, still nothing. The comics shops haven't heard anything. All the Boom!site says is 'Not yet released'. No date, nothing. Their blog doesn't say anything either.
So now, a month later, still nothing. And then this week they post their 'March preview' on their blog, which has Eureka #4 in it.... Do the math. *waits* It doesn't work. And makes them lose even more credibility because they either can't do basic math, or can't be bothered to make sure their current posts are accurate based on their actual release dates, not something that was clearly made a long time ago.
I've tried contacting them for info, no response. A friend did the same before me and got a really crappy form letter that told us to 'keep checking the blog' -- which we *were* already checking, and wasn't telling us crap.
Transparency, or even some info, would go a REALLY long way with people. Even an "oh sorry, we've had an unexpected delay with ____, our best estimated ship date is going to be ___" -- even if they push it back a couple times -- would be more likely to keep our attention and loyalty. At this rate, they're going to alienate the people that WERE going to buy the comic and instead aren't going to waste their time to keep checking to find out if it's out yet -- I'm at the end of my rope, and I bet I held out longer than a lot of other people. Especially given that I've given up on Eureka Unscripted and SARAH's Twitter, because they've both been practially ghost towns for months now.
All the silence + plotlines headed south (2 pregnancies, dead Nathan, Lexi staying.. what?) = me getting very skeptical about the show that had managed to eclipse CSI:NY as my favorite.
Fail, Eureka people, EPIC FAIL ALL AROUND. :-(
(Of course, if any of you has any better info than me, I'd be happy to hear it.)
